I knew rebranding the channel would ultimately lead to a drop in subscribers. I’m fully aware that those who have subscribed to date did not subscribe for the rebranded content. They subscribed for GEN-X content. I took that away, sort of – I’m still GEN-X, so the realist in me knew this would happen. But that said . . .
It Still SUCKS!
To be fair, it’s a LOT better one week in than I thought it would be. I have gained subscribers based on the new content, and that has offset the losses to the point where, net, I’m only down about 10 subscribers. That’s NOT BAD AT ALL! And I know that. But there’s that mental aspect that seeing any numbers go down when you want to grow is discouraging.
The really good news is that this has been the only downside to the rebranding. Though my videos aren’t getting the same view count as the GEN-X content, I’m proud of what I have created this past week. I love that I’m inspired to create again – even so much that I’m writing blog posts here! The positive FAR outweighs the negative and I’m really excited to see this grow and my authentic brand take off.
